Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has issued a call to action for residents in the path of Tropical Storm Debby to remain alert and prepared as the storm continues to impact the state. Speaking from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency, Governor Kemp emphasized the importance of staying vigilant despite the current lull in severe weather conditions.

While many areas are currently not experiencing heavy rain and high winds, Governor Kemp highlighted that weather models indicate a potential return of significant rainfall. He urged residents to give emergency responders the necessary time and space to clear roads, deploy power crews, and address any emergency situations that may arise.

Governor Kemp stressed the importance of allowing emergency workers to carry out their duties effectively in order to expedite power restoration efforts for affected customers. He advised locals to avoid unnecessary travel on the roads to facilitate the swift completion of essential tasks while the weather conditions remain relatively calm.

By encouraging residents to cooperate with emergency response teams and minimize non-essential travel, Governor Kemp aims to enhance the state's ability to respond efficiently to any challenges posed by Tropical Storm Debby. The proactive measures advocated by the governor reflect a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of Georgia's residents during this weather event.
