Images that show how George's Dock could be transformed into a public swimming pool have been released as part of a campaign to revitalise the area.
The north inner city area, which was previously the proposed location for a since scrapped white water rafting facility, is a prime site for redevelopment as a public use facility by Dublin City Council. Back in July the council management brought forward a proposal for three separate facilities which have winter and summer layouts.
And now images of the conceptual plans by the George's Dock Lido campaign have emerged which see the area transformed into an all season swimming pool for the entire community. A petition by the campaign organisers has garnered over 4,200 signatures in two years and continues to grow support.
