Geordie Shore fans are set to be in for a treat as the upcoming series has been hailed the "most dramatic series yet" ahead of its release.
As filming for the show has got underway, tensions are said to have reached boiling point as the cast headed to Cyprus.
The stars are believed to have clashed on their getaway, reportedly causing several long-running friendships to hang in the balance.
There is now said to be a huge divide amongst the Geordie Shore cast.
In the latest series aired in 2022, the cast included Chloe Ferry, Nathan Henry, James Tindale, Amelia Lily and Abbie Holborn.
"There is basically a big divide in the cast now – they have been split in two as they have taken sides over a huge argument that broke out," a source told The Sun regarding the upcoming series.
The insider added: "Production are thrilled with all the drama that has come out of filming and it's really shown them that there is still a lot of life left in this show and this cast.
"The new format, which sees the cast go on holiday together rather than living in the old house they all shacked up in, has really freshened things up."
Back in February, MTV hit back at claims Geordie Shore was being axed completely - insisting another season was in the works and promising fans some exciting scenes and a reunion planned for later this summer.
But it's widely believed the upcoming season will be the final to air for a while and the format will be rested.
Yet f ans hoping to see the likes of Scotty T and Marty McKenna 'getting mortal' one final time will be disappointed to learn the boys have been snubbed by the show that made them both household names.
"Marty wasn't asked back as he didn't behave well while filming Celebs Go Dating last year, which is made by the same production company that makes Geordie Shore," a TV insider claims.
"Bosses weren't impressed by his antics, so decided not to invite him back after the reunion."
Geordie Shore first aired in 2011 and has been a hit with viewers ever since, after being inspired by its American counterpart Jersey Shore.
A MTV spokesperson previously shot down claims the show that made household names out of Vicky Pattison and Charlotte Crosby is being axed and confirmed there are absolutely no plans to cancel the series.
An official MTV spokesperson told The Mirror: "Geordie Shore has not been cancelled and continues to be one of MTV’s biggest shows. We can't wait for fans to see what we have in store next season."
At its peak, the MTV reality series was watched regularly by over 1 million people per episode.
However, in recent years ratings have fallen to just over 100,000.
The original cast included Charlotte, Vicky, Gary 'Gaz' Beadle, Jay Gardner, Holly Hagan, James Tindale, Greg Lake and Sophie Kasaei.
