Sophie Kasaei has given her legions of Instagram followers a look inside her family's stunning new restaurant Ateesh, as she visited the recently launched Ponteland business on Monday night.
While Sophie is of course famous for being a TV star, shooting to fame on the first series of Geordie Shore back in 2011, her family are renowned around South Tyneside and further afield for their restaurants. They have numerous Mambo's restaurants around the North East, Ponteland being the most recent; while one of the original Mambo's restaurants in South ShIelds is now the chic and very Instagrammable BunBun, having had a huge makeover and name change in 2021.
And the latest string to their restaurant bow is Ateesh, which has just opened in Ponteland's Main Street.
The mission statement on the newly launched haunt's website reads: "Symbolising regeneration, rejuvenation, generosity, and light. Ateesh is an elegant fine dining restaurant with an emphasis on natural, sustainable food, sourced from the UK’s most dedicated farmers and food producers."
It adds: "We create beautifully crafted Middle Eastern dishes, seeking out the best of British produce, with a passion to delight and share our curiosity and our love of delicious artisanal food."
Sophie, who is dating TOWIE star Jordan Brook, was there to support her family on Monday evening and, as well as posing up a storm with her relatives, also offered a first glimpse at both its exterior and interior, with the golden signage and glass doors outside flanked by flame pillars, while indoor the décor is sleek and sophisticated., with flowers overlooking the tables and plenty of photo opportunities surrounding them.
Sophie gave her own verdict on the lighting in the very swanky toilets, uploading a mirror shot of herself and writing: "Toilet selfie approval @ateeshrestaurant"
The Ateesh menu includes Mezze like Baba Ganoush, Hummus and Muhammara and Hot Starters including Lamb Kofte, Halloumi Fries and Lebanese spring rolls; while, moving onto the Mains, diners can choose from dishes like Lamb Chop Shashlik, Persian Kobideh, Chicken Ateesh and chicken wings, steaks and Ateesh specials like Lamb Moussaka and Truffled Chicken.
The menu doesn't stop there either as there is also a vast array of fries, including saffron rice, triple cooked chips and truffle and parmesan fries.
Lofve3rs of a cocktail are also catered for, with Ateesh's thirst-quenching creations including the Frozen Watermelon Margarita, Cherry Blossom, Summer of 75 and classics like Amaretto Sour and Pornstar Martini.
