Geordie Hospital moved by Channel 4 from Monday night slot to make way for Jamie Oliver

Geordie Hospital is being moved from its Monday night time slot on Channel 4 to make way for Jamie Oliver's new show.

The fly on the wall look at life in Newcastle's busiest hospitals has proved to be a big hit with viewers since it launched last week, with people at home full of praise for both the show and the cast of hard working staff who have been given a slice of TV stardom.

Episode two of Geordie Hospital went out on Monday at 8pm, with viewers incredibly moved by the story of Jason, a man who broke his back in a horrifying accident at work and hard to learn again, with some amazing help from neurophysiotherapist Rachel Stout.

With Rachel offering him plenty of encouragement, Jason managed to walk a few steps just a week after being rushed to hospital.

Another touching story from the latest Geordie Hospital saw eight-year-old Violet having corrective surgery to her feet, after suffering from a condition since birth that has affected the development of feet.

Just like they were a week earlier after episode one, viewers were quick to react on Twitter as the credits rolled on Monday's show.

Those who watched right to the end will have heard the Channel 4 voice over person announce that the next Geordie Hospital would be on on Tuesday, February 1 at 8pm.

And it changing days is all down to the fact that Jamie Oliver's Great Cookbook Challenge will go into the 8pm slot on Monday.

A teaser for episode three of Geordie Hospital reads: "Male fertility specialist Kevin performs surgery on cystic fibrosis patient Karl to see whether it is possible for him to start a family."

It adds: "Ear, nose and throat consultant Claire operates on six-year-old Harrison to try to strengthen his voice and grandfather Donald goes under the knife to remove a huge tumour from his thigh."
