Netflix has released the first trailer for new movie Ladies First (which you can catch up with below), and it's safe to say that the first look hasn't gone down well.
Starring Sacha Baron Cohen and Rosamund Pike, the film is set to follow "a ladies man who finds his life upended when he wakes up in a parallel world dominated by women.
"With the rules of engagement changed, he goes head-to-head with a fiery female colleague in a playful satire about what happens when the script is flipped."

Already dubbed "the worst trailer I've ever seen" by fans online, Ladies First looks to be an English-language remake of the French 2018 film I Am Not An Easy Man.
Even so, there's another broad stroke of irony we haven't even considered.

First, let's dig a little deeper into these fan reactions. One posted on X/Twitter, "No wonder there are massive layoffs in Hollywood right now," with another agreeing "I feel like this script might have been sitting on the shelf awhile."
"This concept would have gone so hard in like, 1987," a third weighs in.
But while the narrative isn't chiming with fans online, there's something else to consider. Parody movies are something Baron Cohen is both well suited to and known for. Yet for Pike, it's more of a surprising move, especially given her current success in National Theatre play Inter Alia, which is currently streaming on the company's At Home platform internationally.
Still on London's West End before transferring to Broadway later in 2026, Pike plays Jessica, a pioneering Crown Court Judge balancing a high-powered career with the emotional labor of motherhood.
When her teenage son is accused of severe sexual assault, she faces a crisis testing her feminist principles and legal convictions against her maternal instincts.
Having both projects release one after another seems even more jarring, particularly given how much critical and fan success Inter Alia is currently receiving.
We'll be able to see Ladies First on May 22, so full reactions are still to be determined.
