The first playable Archon in Genshin Impact returns on his rerun during update 3.1: Venti is a supremely powerful Sub DPS character who uses his Anemo abilities to group enemies in one spot and prepare devastating combos. This tone-deaf bard doesn’t come without his quirks, but he remains a strong addition to many teams. How to best equip Venti in Genshin Impact is explained in this build guide.
Genshin Impact Venti: best weapons
Venti fulfills a similar role to most Anemo Sub DPS characters, including Kazuha and Sucrose: he groups enemies for maximum area damage and triggers Swirls that absorb other elements and increase their damage. The bard has a strong Energy Recharge and his elemental ability costs comparably little energy, which is a good foundation. Therefore, he mainly needs more Elemental Mastery to boost his Swirl damage.
The 5-star bow Elegy For The End is ideal for Venti: it increases the Energy Recharge as well as the Elemental Mastery. In addition, the weapon triggers a boosting effect that greatly increases Elemental Mastery and Attack – not only for the wielder, but likewise for any character who’s being swapped in.
Alternative weapons for Venti are:
- The Stringless (4-star bow) – increases Elemental Mastery, ability damage.
- Windblume Ode (4-star bow) – increases Elemental Mastery, Attack.
- Sacrificial Bow (4-star bow) – increases Energy Recharge, may skip cooldowns.
Genshin Impact Venti: best artifacts
If you are already somewhat familiar with Anemo characters, the choice of the best artifact set for Venti won’t surprise you much: a full set of Viridescent Venerer should be your goal. Not only does it increase Anemo damage by 15%, but it also boosts Swirl damage by 60% and reduces enemies’ elemental resistance to the element that was absorbed by the current Swirl by 40%. Shredding that resistance is a sure way to set up devastating attacks from your other units.
Pay attention to the following distribution of attributes:
- Plume: Attack (main stat), Elemental Mastery, Attack %, Energy Recharge, Critical Damage (sub stats).
- Flower: HP (main stat), Elemental Mastery, Attack %, Energy Recharge, Critical Damage (sub stats).
- Sands: Elemental Mastery (main stat), Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Energy Recharge, Attack % (sub stats).
- Goblet: Elemental Mastery (main stat), Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Energy Recharge, Attack % (sub stats).
- Circlet: Elemental Mastery (main stat), Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Energy Recharge, Attack % (sub stats).
Genshin Impact Venti: best teams
Venti as a playable character, unlike his NPC form, is a real workhorse that fits into many team compositions. His only weakness are heavy enemies that can’t be lifted by his skills. Also, in some cases he lifts enemies so high that certain DPS characters can’t reach them, which obviously should be avoided.
First example of a strong team composition with Venti is a Freeze team:
Ayaka does the main damage in this team, Shenhe improves it and contributes Cryo resonance. Kokomi heals the squad and provides steady Hydro effects so Ayaka can freeze enemies. Venti always comes onto the field when his Elemental Burst is ready to prepare strong combos.
Ganyu is a good Ayaka replacement for such a team, Diona fills in for Shenhe, and Mona is an option instead of Kokomi if there’s a healer like Diona locked in.
This team composition feeds Main DPS Ayato with Electro and Pyro effects to trigger powerful reactions enhanced by Venti’s Swirls.
Yoimiya is another Main DPS character that easily reaches targets lifted by Venti. Combine with her a Sub DPS character that excels at supporting figures focused on standard attacks – instead of Xingqiu, this could also be Yelan or Candace, for example.
- Xiao (Main DPS), Venti (Sub DPS), Zhongli (Support), Bennett (Support).
Xiao is also a good candidate to build a team around Venti thanks to his jumping skills.
