Well, we just changed over into the second phase of patch 2.4 for Genshin Impact, and now we are heading toward 2.5 with more new missions, areas and heroes.
MiHoYo has officially announced that the reveal stream for Genshin Impact Update 2.5 will be on Friday, February 4 at 7 AM ET (UTC-5).
We already know that it’s confirmed that Yae Miko will be a 5 star Electro Catalyst hero that will arrive in 2.5, essentially the last of the “story mission” Inazuma characters we’ve already seen, short of maybe Scaramouche.
According to some leaks, Yae Miko will have a banner to herself, while the second set of reruns will be for Raiden Shogun and Kokomi, other Inazuma 5 stars. Others have said Kazuha may show up as well, or instead of Raiden Shogun. Supposedly this story chain will culminate in a mission where Raiden Shogun herself becomes a new weekly boss. I’m not sure if this will be identical mechanically to the first time we fought her, or something else. I also thought our issues with her were settled, so potentially major story things are in store.
Other leaks include the arrival of some sort of bartender minigame-based event which will allow you to prepare drinks for NPCs as various characters. New weapons are coming, possibly new enemy types. Have not heard anything about a new zone, as Genshin has been adding a ton of landmass lately, and maybe they’re taking a break from that.
Tuning into the livestream will not only reveal a ton of new information, but will also get you gift codes for Primogems that only work for a short while. I will be sure to collect and post those once they’re live so you don’t miss them. It’s an early wake-up call for the 2.5 stream if you’re in the US, but it makes more sense for Asia.
I am certainly looking forward to 2.5 as during this break in many of my other live service games, I have gotten back into Genshin with a vengeance, and am down for some new content. Though the end of this month is about to get crazy with new releases, so I may have to set it down again.
