The Cincinnati Bengals found good value with safety Geno Stone in free agency.
Stone comes over from Baltimore and projects to start as a rangy presence in the back end of the defense, the team’s latest effort to fill the void left by Jessie Bates.
Given his production, fit and ability, Stone’s two-year deal worth $14 million is a good value for the Bengals.
Per Spotrac, he’s a $6.025 million cap hit in 2024 before it escalates to $7.975 million in 2025. There’s $6 million total guaranteed.
Meaning, if it doesn’t work out for some reason, the Bengals aren’t super tied to the contract.
In our analysis of the signing, it’s pretty clear the fit is a fantastic one, with the value of the contract merely a nice bonus.
