GENESIS is to showcase its electrified GV70 SUV and high-performance X Speedium Coupe Concept for the first time in Europe at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Featuring cutting-edge technology and superb levels of refinement and versatility, the GV70 is the second pure-electric SUV from the luxury Korean car maker, following on from the GV60 earlier this year.
An all-electric version of the popular G80 saloon will launch later this year.
The X Speedium Coupe Concept will also be at the festival, which takes place from June 23 to 26 at the famous Sussex venue.
The marque says the dynamic concept is “inspired by the passion for motorsports felt by Genesis designers and their belief that the emotional value of driving will remain strong in the era of electrification”.
Genesis will also display its range of cars – including the GV60, G70 Shooting Brake, G80 and GV80 SUV – and will be in action on the famous Goodwood hillclimb.
Dominique Boesch, the brand’s boss in Europe, said: “We are very excited to be revealing both the electrified GV70 and the X Speedium Coupe Concept for the first time in this part of the world.
“Both cars represent our firm commitment to establish ourselves as a completely zero emissions brand by 2030, and we can’t wait to share them and the wider Genesis family with visitors to the highly prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed.”
Since making its debut in Europe in May 2021, Genesis (title sponsors of July’s Scottish Open golf tournament) has revealed seven models and, from 2025, it will launch only pure electric vehicles and is committed to becoming a carbon net zero company by 2035.
