Genesis star Peter Gabriel eats baked beans to stay young but worries about side effects

Beans, beans, they’re good for the heart…

So good, that Genesis star Peter Gabriel is eating baked beans in a bid to stay youthful at 72, although he admits worrying about the side effects.

The singer, who performed in the group’s last-ever gig together in March, says his son has coerced him into taking up a more healthy lifestyle in his 70s.

“My son is studying biomedicine and he keeps educating me about longevity and stuff,” he says. “He has told me that intermittent fasting is good, not eating between dinner and midday.

“He has also told me to eat more beans, but we all know the consequences of that. Maybe I will be able to float a little easier.

“I used to think all this stuff was ridiculous, like Trivial Pursuit for billionaires, but now I am discovering more. We are only just beginning to understand some things.”

The rocker, who was speaking at the Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef awards, plans to tour next year after releasing a solo album.

He admits his plans for the road are not as eco-friendly as he would like.

“A private plane is not very green, I am afraid, but it is the only way I can manage to do it in my advanced years,” he says.

Plus all that methane…

Adele has perfected her crawl for the after-party (@tthisIoveswift)

Here’s proof Adele would crawl on her knees for a cute selfie.

The singer said she couldn’t wait for a Sauvignon Blanc after her set at BST Hyde Park on Saturday night, and asked the crowd: “Are you drunk yet? Last night they were dropping like flies. I’m a pro at passing out drunk.”

At least she perfected her crawl for the after-party.
