Genesis has revealed the UK specification for its GV60 Magma, giving the clearest picture yet of how the premium Korean brand plans to add a dose of high-performance excitement to its electric range.
Set to become the first in a range of high-performance models, the GV60 Magma is making an early public appearance at the Genesis Studio in the revamped Battersea Power Station in London. The pre-production car, in the brand’s vivid orange paint scheme, will remain on static display until the end of March – offering visitors a first look ahead of customer deliveries scheduled for the second half of 2026.
The Magma represents a notable step for Genesis, introducing the company’s dedicated high-performance sub-brand and signalling an expansion of its ambitions beyond luxury-focused electric mobility.

Ben Sargeant, director of Genesis and customer strategy at Genesis Motor UK, said: “GV60 Magma represents the very best of Genesis. As the brand’s first high-performance model, it brings together elevated design, outstanding performance credentials and market-leading technology in a way that signals the next chapter for the brand. We look forward to introducing this new expression of luxury high-performance to our customers when it arrives in the UK later this year.”
The GV60 Magma pairs an 84kWh battery with dual electric motors to produce a combined 642bhp. Genesis quotes a 0-60mph time of 3.4 seconds, placing the car among the quicker electric SUVs expected to arrive on the UK market in the coming years.
Charging capability remains a key part of the package, with Genesis stating the battery can be replenished from 10 to 80 per cent in 18 minutes when connected to suitable ultra-fast infrastructure.
Boost mode, already familiar from other Genesis EVs, has been further developed for the Magma. Activation temporarily delivers a combined 478kW, equivalent to 650PS and 790Nm of torque, while enabling a claimed top speed of 164mph. The duration of the boost function has also been extended to 15 seconds.
Launch control has been added as well, allowing the car to manage torque delivery and traction settings automatically for maximum acceleration from standstill.
Genesis has also focused on chassis and suspension development, refining geometry to lower the roll centre and enhance cornering stability. The electronic control suspension system incorporates Hydro G-Bushes at the front and dual-layer bushings at the rear, measures intended to balance ride comfort with greater body control during dynamic driving.

Braking performance has been uprated through the adoption of front monoblock callipers paired with 400mm discs, while rear components feature high-friction materials designed to maintain stopping performance under repeated heavy use.
The GV60 Magma retains the handsome silhouette of the standard car, but with a series of changes designed to support its performance brief. Genesis has widened the track by 50mm and lowered the ride height by 20mm, adjustments that subtly alter the stance while also contributing to aerodynamic efficiency.
The exterior receives several model-specific details, including a redesigned front bumper with integrated air vents and side canard wings intended to guide airflow around the wheels. A triple-vent front treatment integrates the camera hardware while also aiding cooling, and newly shaped side skirts are designed to improve stability at speed with air outlets mirroring the triple-vent look from the front.

Round the back, the Magma gains a dedicated bumper and splitter, plus a sizeable wing-style rear spoiler, instantly setting it apart from other GV60 variants. The performance theme is reinforced by 21-inch forged wheels wearing Pirelli tyres and complemented by Magma Orange brake callipers whether you go for the GV60 in orange, black or white paint schemes.
Inside, Genesis has combined performance cues with the brand’s established emphasis on materials and finish. The cabin features 10-way electrically adjustable suede bucket seats, available with orange or ash white contrast stitching, alongside aluminium detailing and Magma-specific trim elements.
A bespoke steering wheel incorporates orange accents and a dedicated Magma button, providing quick access to the car’s performance driving modes. Two new settings – SPRINT mode and GT mode – have been developed to deliver contrasting driving characters, from more focused performance driving to longer-distance high-speed cruising.

Technology remains central to the GV60 Magma experience. A 27-inch panoramic connected car integrated cockpit combines infotainment and driver information into a single display, while performance-oriented digital features such as virtual gear shift, drift mode and high-performance battery control have been recalibrated specifically for this model.
An enhanced Active Sound Design+ system works with external speakers to deliver synthesised performance sound. Depending on settings, the system can simulate traditional high-performance engine tones or introduce EV-specific acoustic signatures inspired by experiences such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
For now, the Battersea preview offers a first chance for UK audiences to see the GV60 Magma up close as Genesis prepares the model for its showroom debut around the country. With customer deliveries planned for later in 2026, the Magma gives an early indication of how Genesis intends to blend luxury, technology and performance within its expanding electric lineup.
