THE gender pay gap for workers in the UK widened to 8.3% this year, official figures have shown.
Scotland had a lower difference in earnings (3.7%) between men and women than any of the English regions, the statistics showed, while in Northern Ireland women earned more than men.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) revealed that the difference in average earnings for full-time male and female employees struck the 8.3% figure in April, rising from 7.7% in April 2021.
