Gemma Owen's mother has paid tribute to her daughter as she finished runner-up in the Love Island final.
The 19-year-old, who is partnered with Luca Bish, just missed out on victory, with the public choosing Ekin-Su and Davide instead.
Gemma beat Indiyah and Dami who finished third, and Tasha and Andrew who were voted-off fourth. Paige Thorne and Adam Collard narrowly missed out on a place after they received the least amount of votes from the public and therefore were dumped from the villa in Sunday's episode.

During the final, Gemma's mum issued a heartfelt message. Posting on Instagram, Louise said: "Whatever happens tonight is irrelevant. I am beyond proud of you @gemowen_1 you have kept it classy throughout."
In the penultimate episode of the series, the islanders received socially distanced visits from their friends and families. Michael Owen did not come to see his daughter Gemma, but Louise did reveal his thoughts about her time on the show.
After Gemma asked what her father felt about how she had handled herself, Louise told her: "Honestly, he is really proud of you, really proud."
However, her friend Sarah, who also came to visit, admitted that there was a photo circulating on social media where Luca had a striking similarity to Michael Owen.
