Gemma Collins has admitted that she has "put off having children" over fearing that she would be an "unfit mother."
The stunning 41-year-old TOWIE star first opened up about her mental health struggles when she appeared on Piers Morgan's Life Stories last year.
In the interview with Piers she opened up about how she had a history of self-harming, which left viewers at home completely shocked to learn.
Wanting to be more honest about her struggles with self-harm, Gemma is set to star in a new Channel 4 documentary that will air later this month – Gemma Collins : Self-Harm & Me.
In the new revealing documentary, the self-confessed diva aims to raise awareness of mental health and self-harm, while taking a look back into her life.
It's no secret that Gemma wants to be a mum, something she has longed to be for sometime, but in the past she was scared that she might be an unfit mother.
Speaking to New Magazine, Gemma revealed that she was scared she's start self-harming again, and wouldn't be a fit mother.
She then added: “Yes, I can provide financial stability and a lot of love, but what if it came back?”
Gemma is "desperate" to have a baby with her her fiancé Rami Hawash and revealed to the publication that while making her new show, she spoke to professionals about self-harm and that then gave her “the green light” to do so.
Opening up to New Magazine, Gemma explained that not a lot of people know about her mental health struggles, but at 41, she doesn't feel like she needs to hide it anymore.
With the "green light" from professionals, Gemma sees her fiancé Rami as her "life partner" and told the publication that she feels as though he is the right person for her to have children with.
Rami already has a son from a previous relationship, and Gemma dubs herself a step mum to the tot.
Back in November Gemma shared a snap of her and the child, writing: "No feeling like it. My little prince. Being a step mummy is so rewarding love is free and so rewarding nothing can put a price on this."
Supportive and loving, Gemma told New that he was the only person who knew about her secret self-harm battle.
She said: "Anyone else I’ve ever gone out with – I’ve always hidden it from them."
Opening up about embarking on making her new documentary, she said that she didn't take making the decision lightly, and spoke to Rami, her family, and her mum.

Her mum championed Gemma's decision and told her to "go for it," telling her that the process would likely be "cathartic."
Explaining that being a celebrity is what she does for a job, Gemma reckons people forget that celebrities are real people, and was worried that viewers might dub the documentary "another sob story."
When it was announced that Gemma would be filming this incredibly raw and emotional documentary, trolls were quick to comment – but Gemma wasn't and isn't bothered. In fact, she wishes them "love and light."
Opening up about leaving The GC in the shadows for her new programme, Gemma explained: "I’m Gemma Collins in the documentary. I’m not The GC. I told my manager that I want to rest The GC a bit once I get into my forties and just be me."
"Scary, highly uncomfortable and very daunting," filming her new documentary might have been tough for the TOWIE star, but she reckons it's "the best TV she's ever made."
Gemma Collins: Self-Harm & Me will air on February 16 at 9pm on Channel 4
