Gemma Collins fools fans with secret wedding picture as she leads the celeb April Fool's pranks

Gemma Collins fooled fans by sharing a “wedding” snap, two years after she got engaged to Rami Hawash.

The reality star, 45, played a prank on her 2.2 million followers, saying she had tied the knot in secret. In the pic, Collins is smiling, wearing a low-key wedding dress.

“Hey guys I got married in secret recently I didn’t marry as the GC i married as the girl @rami_hawash_ knows pre fame,” the star wrote in the caption.

Collins said “yes” to Hawash, 50, after he proposed in the Maldives in 2024, and is step mum to his son Tristan, seven - and at the beginning of this year, she said she was going to get married and have a baby in 2026.

Though many of Collins’ fans believed she had already walked down the aisle, there were many in the comments joining in on the joke.

Collins’ friend, Jedward’s John Grimes, wrote: “It was such a beautiful day loved being your flower boys and when Victoria Beckham gave us all a Jepic dance.”

TOWIE’s Carol Wright added: “Haha I fell for it I was going to say I didn’t see my invite.”

Another added: “I only knew this is April Fools because your dress is too basic for the GC.”

While Collins fabricated a wedding, other news outlets have taken the opportunity to create fake stories about big names.

The Oxford Mail reported Leonardo DiCaprio had bought a 14th century Cotswolds castle for a cool £95 million so he could study acting at Oxford.

EuroNews finally revealed the long-awaited name of the next 007 - claiming the role would go to a woman, with Jessie Buckley taking over from Daniel Craig.

And, particularly funny given his recent controversial comments on the ballet and opera, Dazed published the story Timothée Chalamet would star in a Billy Elliot reboot (complete with ballet training).

Venues have also got involved, as the Royal Albert Hall announced a Gen-Z friendly series of events, titled Let Them Cook, including a Doomscrolling in Concert, Aura Farming in Hyde Park and a looksmaxxing contest (hosted by Eamonn Holmes).
