Gemma Atkinson says she's seen Gorka Marquez in new light before baby update and says it's 'last thing she'd have thought'

Gemma Atkinson has said it was the 'last thing she thought' she'd end up seeing her fiance Gorka Marquez doing as she saw him in a new light while settling into maternity leave together. The couple are currently preparing to welcome their second child together any day now.

The Hits Radio host and Strictly Come Dancing star announced back in January that they were expanding their brood after welcoming their first child, daughter Mia, back in July 2019. They also confirmed that their second child would be a baby boy, due in the summer.

Gemma, 38, has since been keeping her loyal fans and social media followers updated with her second pregnancy and previously shared the reason that she hadn't asked for a 'due date' but has been told that her son could be making his arrival the "back few weeks in June to the front few weeks in July".

The mum-of-two-to-be is a few weeks into her maternity leave after finishing up on Hits Radio until the new year but her last day on screens came on Monday (June 12) as she appeared on Steph's Packed Lunch for the last time, again until next year.

And with Gorka, 32, now home after touring the country with his fellow Strictly pros, the loved-up couple were able to spend the morning with their three-year-old daughter Mia, who turns four next month, which appeared to include an important rescue in the garden of their Greater Manchester home.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday morning (June 13), Gemma filmed her daughter as she walked through the garden in an adorable purple dress with matching sandals. "He wants to be with his mummy and daddy?" the Bury-born star was heard asking from behind the camera.

"Yeah," she replied before asking her little girl more questions and told her to 'be careful' as she appeared to be lifting a snail from a wall slab before placing it in the soil. "Obsessed with 'saving' animals," Gemma captioned the sweet video before Mia appeared to ask if they could look for more.

And in Gemma's follow-up video, it appeared they were doing just that but with Gorka roped in instead. "Gorka's emptying the pool and Mias found one, two, three, four snails and she's adamant she wants to recuse them and put them all together," the former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale star said from behind the camera.

"She's so cute, bless her," she added as she continued to film Mia and her dad hunting for the tiny snails. Alongside the clip, Gemma couldn't help but laugh. "When first meeting @gorka_marquez the last thing I'd ever think he'd be doing is looking for snails to 'rescue'," she wrote alongside crying laughing emojis.

The couple then headed for what could be their last baby scan (Gemma Atkinson Instagram)

Later, Gemma returned to her Instagram Story as she shared an update on her unborn child after going for a scan. "We've just been to what could be the last growth scan before little fella arrives," she said to the camera as she filmed an update alongside Gorka in the car confirming she was 36 weeks into her pregnancy.

"He's in the right place, perfect size..." she continued before Gorka interjected: "With his head between your legs." To which Geamm said: "Yes..." and Gorka added: "I'd say the right place."

Gemma then went on to heap praise on The Royal Bolton Hospital where she had been for the scan, and where she also gave birth to Mia who she previously hailed for saving both of their lives. "I can't rave about that hospital enough, you know. They were incredible last time with me and Mia and the team, some are the same, some are different, are just wonderful. I feel like I'm in good hands so God bless them. God bless that NHS we've got but yeah, all good!"
