Gemma Atkinson left in tears during moment at home alone as she's supported over new mum admission

Gemma Atkinson has shared how she's been left crying 'happy tears' as she let fans in on a previous moment she shared while alone at home. The Hits Radio host recently started her maternity leave after hosting her last radio show with Mike Toolan on the station until next year.

Back in January, Gemma announced that she is expecting baby number two with her Strictly Come Dancing star fiance Gorka Marquez. The couple, who already share three-year-old daughter Mia, confirmed the wonderful news with a string of images on Instagram, confirming they were expecting a baby boy this summer.

And with just weeks to go until their 'little man's' arrival, Gemma has finished work on Hits Radio as is preparing for her second child's arrival. Taking to Instagram on Sunday (May 21), the Bury-born star shared a video of herself enjoying the sun in the back garden of her Greater Manchester home.

She shared how she was sipping on an iced coffee in the sunshine as she gave some attention to her beloved pet pooches, Ollie and Norman., while her little girl ways away and Gorka is on tour with his Strictly co-stars. "Mia slept at my sister's last night," Gemma typed alongside the short clip, which showed her sat in the garden in a white shirt and with wet hair.

"I've finished for Mat leave earlier this time. With Mia I had about 8 days and she arrived so I'm making sure this time I have at least 3 weeks (although it's not up to me it's up to little man)," she went on to share.

"I want to get an albeit short-lived routine for myself before everything changes. Sitting out in the garden without clock watching, longer dog walks after the nursery run and my stretch sessions in the afternoons. Just a bit of 'me' before I have to split myself and be sleep deprived again for a while," Gemma added with a crying laughing emoji and a red heart.

She then shared a follow-up photo of her view, showing her sporting her white linen pyjamas, Gemma's dogs had taken up space on either side of her and had their heads rested on her knee. With her blossoming bump in the shot, the mum-of-two-to-be said: "They both know he's in there.

"Constantly trying to get on or near my belly. Such loyalty to their brother already. Genionel makes me cry happy tears," before adding a heart and crying emoji. But Gemma shared how she still is pretty busy with work, teasing that she's got a project lined-up that will see her work with her beau Gorka for the first time.

Meanwhile, Gemma was quickly flooded with responses from her fans and followers as she made an admission about being a new mum. Sharing a video from when Mia, who turns four in July, was a baby, she wrote on Instagram: "Firstly, her burp [crying laughing emoji]. Secondly, in my head Mia was upright and eating by Christmas. Completely wasn’t."

She went on to say: "Crazy you forget how small they actually were! I remember sending Gorka updates every day on what she was doing. Can anyone (truthfully) actually remember the early, early months without video reference? I can’t but maybe it’s baby brain."

But she was soon proven to not be on her own. @mariacbrand quipped: "I’ve got 3 remembering their names is enough." @laurahand84 replied: "If I'm honest, I think we block it out. Bit like labour... if we remembered how horrific it was in detail you would never do it again."

@orlawrigley shared: "Without video reference or photos some of it is a blur of sleepless nights and lots of coffee!" @lauramacshoogle wrote: "It’s a coping mechanism, you forget the exhaustion to make you think it’s a good idea to have another." @kate_griffin83 added: "Nope @glouiseatkinson and when there are 2, you totally confuse who did what. It’s like they merge into one memory."
