Gemma Atkinson was left laughing when fans started sending her photos from the recent Pride of Britain Awards. The Hits Radio host headed from Manchester to London alongside her co-host Mike Toolan and former Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent to attend the Pride of Britain Awards.
A bunch of well-known faces came together on Monday night (October 24) at the annual event, hosted by Carol Vorderman and Ashley Banjo, to honour everyday heroes and hear the incredible stories. The tear-jerking ceremony will be shown to viewers on Thursday (October 27) on ITV.
After getting to the capital, Bury-born Gemma was reunited with her Strictly Come Dancing star fiance Gorka Marquez, who was joining her at the often emotional and uplifting ceremony. But as some of their fellow TV and radio stars hit the red carpet and strutted their stuff in front of the waiting cameras, the couple made an un-showbiz decision.
Sharing a video as they arrived at London's Grosvenor House, Gemma could be seen looking stunning in her figure-hugging dress, as she said: "We're in," panning to show herself, Gorka, and Gorka's Strictly co-star Luba Mushtuk. "We didn't do the carpet," the 37-year-old former soap star admitted. "We walked down to do it but there was a massive queue.
"Luba said, 'Just come in, it's fine,' so we didn't do the red carpet but we're here. We made it in." The group went on to enjoy their night and on Tuesday, Gemma shared some more behind-the-scenes photos taken by Gorka as they got glammed up for the event.
But as she explained to her millions of followers, Gemma and Gorka, 34, ditched the red carpet, meaning there are no official photos of them posing together at the event. However, it appears they may have been caught out. "Laughing at the tags from you guys from ppl having pics on the carpet (all looking amazing btw)..." she typed in a message on her Instagram Story.
"And me & Gorks shuffling through the back of them looking like we've pinched something," she added with a face palm emoji and crying laughing emoji. "It was a really long queue, it was raining and there was food inside so..."
Gorka has since shared more snaps of the pair on Instagram. The black and white images show the loved-up couple, who got engaged on Valentine's Day last year and share three-year-old daughter, Mia, posing in their hotel room. While Gemma showed off her sensational, gym-honed figure in her slinky gown as she posed with one arm up again the wall, Gorka, look suave in a suit and tie, perched on the room's side table.
"Don’t mess with mum or dad," the Spanish dancer captioned the post with a winking face emoji. And the comments soon came flooding in. Fellow Strictly pro Nancy Xu wrote: "HOOOOAAAT," with a string of fire emojis. @credici_sempre1 said: "Oh my goodness you are both too hot. God help your beautiful little girl when ahead is older with your two DNA."
@kimdeabill joked: "Those are the 'before you date our daughter there are some rules' looks." @inglefemalepetrolhead posted: "Love this picture, you two are fabulous and epic mum & dad....." @dancediva40 added: "This is a very Gatsby photo, I love it. Such a beautiful couple."
Others couldn't help but compare them to Bard Pitt and Angelina Jolie in their 2005 film, Mr and Mrs Smith. @misstracy122 wrote: "You power couple could do a remake of mr and mrs smith.....and make it better as mr & mrs Marquez." @staceylaing echoed: "A very glamorous mr & mrs smith." @cliveewilsonn asked: "Is this a teaser for mr and Mrs smith 2 @gorka_marquez?" @the_big_bear1989 added: "Mr & Mrs Smith vibes."
