Gemma Atkinson jokes 'I look like I s*** myself' after daughter's mishap

Gemma Atkinson told fans 'we've all been there' as she joked that it looked like she'd had an unfortunate accident. The actress and broadcaster took to Instagram to share after her three-year-old daughter Mia spilled coffee on her.

Gemma, 37, from Bury, posted a photo of herself showing a large coffee stain on her pale grey workout shorts alongside Mia who smiled sheepishly. And the former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks star looked for the positive in the situation.

"The silver lining when your child spills your coffee all over you is that it's never actually hot because you made it 30 minutes ago but had no time to drink it," she captioned the photo on her Instagram. The down-to-earth Hits Radio presenter also discussed what had happened as she pulled at her stained shorts in her home gym in a video clip.

"I look like Ive had a heavy night and farted in the morning, which we've all been there," she said. "At some point in our lives we've all done it so don't pretend you haven't." And she added frankly: "Everybody's s*** themselves."

This weekend gym fanatic Gemma, who is engaged to Strictly Come Dancing professional Gorka Marquez, shared a cute video of herself working out with her mini-me Mia who used toy weights. "Every Saturday we spend time in the gym. She asks questions, she watches, she learns, she grows. I hope you always want to train with me Mia," wrote the proud mum.

And Gorka cheered: "My little super girls!" The Body Coach Joe Wicks told her: "Love love love this." And her Hits Radio co-star and 2022 Strictly contestant Fleur East commented: "This is amazing!! What an incredible example you are as a Mother. Mia is so adorable."

Earlier this month Gemma had some inspiring advice for fellow parents on fitting in training. She typed along with a video of mum and daughter in the gym: "My advice and what worked for me was accepting that although routine is key, it sometimes doesn’t go to plan and that’s ok!

"Many times I’d go to bed with a list of things for the following day but Mia would be up that night, wouldn’t feed in the morning, had s*** up the wall by 11am and I hadn’t even brushed my teeth by lunch!" The last thing I could do was go workout. BUT, I could always be on top of my nutrition and that’s what I focused on the first six months. Fuel! Enough nutritious food to keep me going and keep me heading towards my goals even on the days I couldn’t train."

She continued: "I knew that eating c*** would make me feel c*** As you can see some sessions I had to use Mia as a weight as she didn’t want to be without me, quick stretch in the bathroom when I could and the majority of my earlier sessions being just body weight stuff while she lay there wondering what the hell I was doing."

"Now she’s older and in a routine herself I can work around it more. With Gorka away a lot it means a lot of 5am starts to get it in before she wakes but that’s my routine and how it works for me.

"Having a gym at home cuts down the travel time I had for the last 15 years and I know that’s half the battle for people. Start with body weight sessions at home, fuel yourself right and go with the flow.

"Find what works for YOU & YOUR routine. And always remember, on those days where it all goes wrong and there’s s*** up the wall. It’s still okay and you’re doing Great."
