Gemma Atkinson claps back at troll who branded her sensational 'Pamela Anderson' snap 'awful'

Gemma Atkinson had the perfect clap back to one of her social media followers who claimed a throwback snap from her days appearing on calendars was 'awful'. The Hits Radio host went back through the archives of her life to find her own Pamela Anderson-inspired photo.

She was inspired to go back after seeing the trailer for Netflix's documentary that is meant to tell the life and career of the Baywatch icon. 'Pamela, a love story', will be hitting Netflix on January 31 and responding to the first-look, Gemma wrote on her Instagram Story: "Always liked Pammy.

"Excited to watch this and hear Pamela's story, from Pamela." She then went on to stun her millions of followers with an image of herself taken earlier in her career when she had her own calendars hitting the shelf.

The racy snap showed Gemma, 38, all bronzed and posing for the camera in a patterned bikini with her blonde locks all voluminous and tussled. The former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks actress typed: "And she was genuinely the inspo behind this calendar!" She added: "I specifically said, 'I want hair like Pamela Anderson.'"

But keen to show her followers that wasn't her current state, the mum-of-one posted a follow-up video of her chilling out at home. "Meanwhile, this is my reality now," she wrote alongside the clip as she attempted to create a Pamela-inspired fringe with her hair that had been brushed back into a ponytail.

"Shall I have my hair like this, Mia?" Gemma asked as she called out to her three-year-old daughter, who she shares with her Strictly Come Dancing star fiance Gorka Marquez. But while Mia gave it a hard 'no', Gemma replied: "No? What do you mean no. How come? What do you not like about it?" as she continued to move her hair around.

"This is now a reality," Gemma later said. "No more Pamela Anderson calendars." But the former soap star became distracted as Mia could be heard making a bump as her concerned mum asked: "Are you alright?" to which the chirpy toddler shouted back: "Yeah!" as her mum burst out laughing.

But in Gemma's next post, she appeared to come across a rather negative response to her sexy calander shot. She shared a screenshot of the message which read: "That's awful... You're better than that." But the ex-Strictly finalist, from Bury, was quick to clap back. "This was tam hun!" she penned.

Gemma also sweetly shown her support for Helen Skelton as she prepares to hit the road in the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour. She has become good friends with the Countryfile host after she was partnered with her fiancé Gorka Marquez on the latest series of the dance contest.

Helen, 39, and the Spanish dancer, 32, made it all the way to the final of the hit BBC One show last month but just missed out on the coveted Glitterball trophy to winners Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal. And Gemma has now shown her support for Helen, who is hitting the road without Gorka, by sending Helen a gift as she prepares for the first show of the tour in Birmingham.

Taking to her Instagram Story, mum-of-three Helen posted a picture of herself posing in a khaki green gym outfit. She thanked Gemma, appearing to confirm that it was from her range with Manchester fashion retailer, In The Style. Gemma then reshared the post with her own 1.8m followers and penned: "Looks amazing Helen!" alongside a string of love heart eye emojis. "Go smash the tour and we'll see you in Manc."
