'Gem' chippy in Kirby-in-Ashfield on market for £240,000 as owner looks to move on

A chippy marketed as a 'gem' has been put up for sale in a Nottinghamshire town. The leasehold for Georgio's on Derby Road in Kirby-in-Ashfield has been priced at £240,000.

The business, which has been established for 20 years, also has a three-bedroom flat above the takeaway. The shop has been leased out but the owner, who has owned the chippy for four years, is now taking back control and offering the takeaway for sale so that he can concentrate on other business interests, according to a Rightmove page.

Veritas Business Sales, who are marketing the chip shop on Rightmove, said: "We believe that there is potential to increase revenue should you wish, by extending the current opening times and having an owner-operator at the helm.
