GB News appears to have hit the sweet spot with its viewers this morning (Tuesday, January 18) as it began daily broadcasts of God Save The Queen accompanied by amazing views of Great Britain.
The right-leaning news channel said it will play an instrumental version of the National Anthem at 5.59am every day on GB News Television and GB News Radio.
And while its core audience appeared to lap it up, there was some people who were left less than impressed.
Conservative MP Andrew Rosindell, who represents Romford, East London, was among those tweeting support, saying: "A proud moment for British broadcasting. Thank you @GBNews."
Also welcoming the anthem, Gary @justliv29257110 tweeted: "Well done #GBNews sounds great. Made me feel proud to live in the UK"
James @ontherightside0 tweeted: "There’s not a better way to start the day, #GodSaveTheQueen Let’s see the lefty tears flow #gbnews"
But Mike George said: "Maybe UKIP TV would be a better name for #GBNews."
Nckhnsn said: "Thank goodness there are no serious problems facing our country at this time… BBC Radio 4 plays the national anthem every day. "
And jimmy @i8wigan said: "Oh bollingbrooks I missed #GodSaveTheQueen on #GBNews this morning thank god for YouTube as I don't think I could've gone to work without hearing it" - he then linked to the Sex Pistols' God Save The Queen on YouTube.
GB News editorial director Michael Booker said the one-minute daily broadcast is linked to The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Year.
He said: "We always promised we would celebrate what's good about our country when we can, and the Queen's 70-year reign is definitely worth celebrating."
It also comes after Conservative MPs suggested the BBC and other broadcasters play the anthem.
Culture minister Chris Philp told MPs on January 6 the “more we hear the national anthem sung, frankly, the better”.
This was in response to a suggestion from a Tory colleague for the corporation to play it at the end of their programming for the day.
