GB News hosts signal support for Russell Brand amid abuse allegations

A NUMBER of GB News hosts appear to have come out in support of Russell Brand after he was accused of the sexual assault of four women.

Bev Turner, who hosts the mid-morning slot on GB News, said Brand was “being attacked” and called him a “hero” in response to a video he shared denying the allegations.

The 48-year-old comedian was accused by four women of sexual assaults between 2006 and 2013.

Brand also faces allegations of controlling, abusive and predatory behaviour, following a joint investigation by The Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4 Dispatches.

Turner said Brand was welcome on her show “anytime”.

She tweeted: "You are being attacked @rustyrockets Establishment media don't know what to do with the fact that you have 6million subscribers & generate autonomous, knowing and original content.

"You are welcome on my @GBNEWS show anytime.

"We are mainstream media. But we are not Establishment media. There's a difference.

"Keep going. This proves you are winning. You're a hero."

Neil Oliver also had his say on the allegations, claiming that the way Brand was being treated was “wrong”.

He said: “The way Russell Brand is being treated by the relic media is plain wrong.

“The fracture between reasonable people and this travesty of a media is being made permanent.”

Before Channel 4 aired Russell Brand: In Plain Sight, the comedian posted a video online, denying the allegations and stating all of his relationships have been consensual. He also accused the media of a “coordinated attack”.
