Excitement has been rising for a new series of the hit BBC sitcom Gavin and Stacey as Larry Lamb and Alison Steadman, who play key characters Mick and Pam Shipman, have been spotted filming at Barry Island. The stars have been snapped outside Marco's Cafe and at the beach huts.
Following the lives of Gavin Shipman and Stacey West, who fall in love and navigate their relationship between Stacey's home of Barry and Gavin in Essex, the series is well-loved. There have been three series of the show and Christmas specials with the most recent Christmas special aired in 2019.
The 2019 Christmas special ended on a dramatic cliffhanger as Nessa Jenkins asked Smithy to marry her and viewers did not get to find out his answer. Now Larry and Alison have been spotted filming at Barry Island and many fans believe it is for a new series of the show.

Unfortunately, however, it is understood that they are filming a documentary for the ITV show DNA Journey. ITV has been contacted for a comment about the filming. Alison's agent was also contacted for comment and said: "Unfortunately we are unable to comment at this time."
While they may not have been filming for the famous series Larry and Alison were loving being back at Barry Island. They posed for pictures with fans and with merchandise from local shop Barrybados.
Larry and Alison were also spotted enjoying ice cream in the sun. Many fans were speculating about the return of Gavin & Stacey, commenting on pictures of Larry and Alison at the island. One said: "Filming??? Are they being sneaky and filming Gavin and Stacey????? Please, please, please." Another said: "Hope they aren't teasing us." A third added: "Hope this means what I think it means" and: "Imagine they are filming more Gavin and Stacey."
