Gavin Bazunu impressed in goal but he was unable to stop Southampton slumping to a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United.
The 20-year-old has become a regular starter since his move to the Premier League club from Manchester City.
And the former Shamrock Rovers stopper was in inspired form in the first-half, including a superb save to deny United's Anthony Elanga from close range amidst a goalmouth scramble.
Bazunu and Southampton were able to keep a United side, seemingly resurgent after beating Liverpool last Monday, to 0-0 at half-time.
But the deadlock was broken on 55 minutes when a free-flowing move was finished off by a sweet volley by Bruno Fernandes.
Southampton then pushed for an equaliser, prompting United boss Erik ten Hag to bring on new signing Casemiro to sure up their midfield.
And United were able to hang on for a second successive victory that sees him move up to sixth place in the table at least temporarily.
