Gavin and Stacey fans were feeling hopeful they would get a series reunion after spotting Larry Lamb and Alison Steadman filming.
The stars, who play Mick and Pam, were pictured filming scenes at Barry Island in Wales.
Pictures of the duo were shared online and fans were excited at the possibility of watching a special reunion episode.
Some accounts shared a snap of the two soaking up the sunshine while lounging on deck chairs outside the beach huts.
They held up signs as they sipped hot drinks from their mugs.
Larry and Alison were also pictured enjoying ice cream at a café on the beachfront.
Fans immediately took to social media to question what they were filming for and shared their hopes for more Gavin and Stacey episodes.
"Love Pamela’s cup," one user said. "[Fingers crossed] for another spec or maybe season 4
"Better be a whole season and not just a special," wrote a second alongside a series of crying emojis.
One overwhelmed user added: "Omg... I will actually lose my mind if this is true..."
"Oh Holy moly domt tease us," another commented.
All rumours are simply fans' speculation on social media. Nothing has been confirmed.
The last time Gavin and Stacey aired was in 2019 when the Christmas episode ended on a cliff hanger.
Nessa Jenkins (played by Ruth Jones) asked Smithy (played by James Corden) to marry her but viewers didn't get to find out what came after.
Rumours began swirling about a potential return of the iconic BBC show after it was reported that James will be returning to the UK to be with his family.
It fuelled speculation that he will once again team up with Ruth Jones to bring back Gavin and Stacey, which ended in 2010.
