Gautam Sinha, the man who is known to have reinvented leather and given it an ultra chic spin is all set to launch his new flagship store in Chandigarh. He is known for combining India's rich craftsmanship in his current designs and give it a minimal and sophisticated look. We spoke to the designer on his new launch. Here's an excerpt.
Why did you decide on launching a store in Chandigarh ?
GS: Launching a store in Chandigarh has always been on our list and we’re thrilled that it’s finally happening! Being a city that celebrates both heritage and innovation, it’s an ideal location for us because it aligns perfectly with our brand’s core ethos of blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.
Can you tell us something more about your design inspiration for the store ? About your aesthetic in general with regards to all your stores.
GS: Creating a warm and inviting space for our customers is always the ultimate goal in our store designing process. In Chandigarh too, we did exactly that. Our signature minimal designs , neutral tones, warm lighting and thoughtfully selected furniture and fixtures helped us create the cozy and relaxing ambiance we had envisioned.
As a lifestyle brand, our aesthetics are an integral part of our identity and it’s important for us to maintain consistency to be able to offer our patrons an immersive experience.
What are the different sections at the store ?
GS: Being a concept store, our aim is to provide a cohesive retail experience by seamlessly blending the multiple product experiences our store has to offer. We’ve three different sections of the store that contribute to this. Nappa Dori features our genuine leather bags, accessories, and lifestyle products. It also includes our signature travel equipment, sling bags, wallets, and more.
Any new collection launches in the pipeline ? What’s in store for Nappa Dori and Dori Living this quarter ?
GS: This is going to be an exciting quarter because there’s a lot in store for us! One of our recent highlights is the latest launch of the "Odyssey Collection" of business travel bags, which features sleek and stylish leather bags designed for the modern business traveler. The latest vintage-inspired addition to the bag and travel equipment category, which includes the Steamer Sling and Steamer set of 2 has also been another key launch.
