Gary Neville was left fuming after being soaked by Manchester City's sprinklers ahead of their derby clash with bitter rivals United.
The Red Devils legend was listening to Pep Guardiola 's pre-match interview when the on-pitch sprinklers popped up and sprayed water at the Sky Sports punditry team on the Etihad Stadium touchline. Neville raced away from the scene and was visibly annoyed by the incident, turning to express his unhappiness once the sprinklers had stopped.
Also caught off guard were fellow pundits Micah Richards and Roy Keane, City manager Guardiola - attempting to explain his team selection - and presenter Kelly Cates, who frantically alerted her colleagues to the splash by shouting: "Watch, watch, watch!"
Once the Citizens boss was able to continue his interview, he confirmed why midfielder Rodri was ruled out of Sunday's grudge game. "Rodri in the training session felt something a little bit more than a niggle in his leg and we couldn't take a risk with these tough, tough, tough schedule," Guardiola revealed.
Ilkay Gundogan was given the responsibility of playing at the base of City's midfield, as Kalvin Phillips also missed the match through an injury which threatens his chances of featuring for England at the World Cup. "Kalvin is injured as well but one of the successes the biggest clubs have in their history is the fact that the excuses don't exist," Guardiola went on to say. "No one is second in the locker room, we have Gundo and if Gundo doesn't play we have another one, it's just to do ourselves."
United icon Roy Keane reckoned that his former team would've been "encouraged" by City's injury woes, but was well aware that Guardiola's replacements were more than capable of being up to the task. "They are missing quality players but Pep makes a great point, he's got a big squad, it's about adapting," Keane stated. "These players in the background are top players, they're just waiting for that opportunity.

"I think Man United, particularly the strikers, you look at the two centre-halves and think there's a weakness there but Pep's a great manager, he's got great international players, they're at Manchester City for a reason and it's about dealing with games like this when they're called upon. But I think Man United will be encouraged when they see the starting 11 - of course, they will."
Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag also gave his verdict on Rodri's absence, saying: " It's a huge impact on their game, Rodri, in many aspects. They will miss them, still there are still 11 good players in the team, really good players on the pitch. Everyone has to deal with it, as will we."
