Gary Neville slams Manchester United players after Ralph Hasenhuttl's comments

Gary Neville has slammed Manchester United's players after Ralph Hasenhuttl made comments about the club post-match.

United took the lead against Hasenhuttl's Saints through a Jadon Sancho tap in.

However shortly following half-time Che Adams equalised for Southampton with a well taken finish ensuring the points were shared at Old Trafford.

At full-time Hasenhuttl was questioned about the Red Devils and was less than complimentary.

"It is not a big secret that when they lose the ball that the reverse gears are not the best from everybody," he said.

"Then you have the chance to create something and we did.

"The pressing for them was good in the beginning but they aren’t used to doing it for more than 30 or 40 minutes, we came into the game after that."

Former United player Neville took to Twitter after the comments to take aim at the squad.

In a tweet which quoted parts of the Saints boss' assessment of Ralf Rangnick's men, Neville added: "Imagine being a Manchester United player and having a respected opposition manager say that about you."

Hasenhuttl was criticised by fellow pundit Jermaine Jenas for his outburst at United insisting that he 'was not a fan of it' while featuring on Match of the Day.

Manchester United will be looking to respond on Tuesday night when they face Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League.
