Gary Neville tore into Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard after the two substitutes failed to make an impact off the bench in Manchester United 's crushing defeat by Manchester City.
The Englishmen were introduced by Ralf Rangnick in a double change shortly after the hour mark with United trailing their local rivals 2-1.
City extended their lead just minutes later through Riyad Mahrez and the Algerian added his second in the closing seconds to secure an emphatic victory.
Rangnick tinkered with his formation for the match by deploying Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba in attack in the absence of top goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo.
Despite Jadon Sancho briefly drawing United level in the first half, they were second best throughout the match as Kevin De Bruyne lit up the Etihad.

Neville was not a fan of Rangnick's unconventional system but confessed the situation only deteriorated as Rashford and Lingard entered the fray for "terrible" cameos.
"I thought they (United) were better with Pogba and Fernandes up front than they were when Rashford came on," the Old Trafford legend told Sky Sports.
"I thought they were even worse when Rashford and Lingard came on. I thought they were terrible."
Neville added: "What I would say is when he changed it to a more traditional system and brought Rashford on put Lingard out on the right and Sancho to the left, that was worse."
Lingard has only started one Premier League game this season while Rashford has also struggled to force his way into interim manager Rangnick's plans.
The No. 10 has been named on the bench for United's last four top-flight fixtures and he has not scored in any competition since January.
Neville suspects Rashford was served the "ultimate put-down" with his latest omission from the starting XI, especially as the likes of Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani were unavailable.
"That's got to be the ultimate put down for Marcus Rashford today," Neville said.
"With four other centre forwards he started the season with not here and he still can't get into the side. It tells you where Rashford is at, where Rangnick thinks he is at."
Rashford has scored five goals this season having missed the first two months while he recovered from shoulder surgery.
Speculation about the 24-year-old's future is beginning to grow as he is out of contract in just over one year's time, even though the club have the option to extend his deal for another season.
United return to action with a home encounter against Tottenham on Saturday.
