Gary Neville names two players he would rather Manchester United sign than Mohamed Salah

Gary Neville has named two players he’d rather sign for Manchester United than Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian has been in sublime form for Liverpool this season, scoring 27 goals in all competitions.

Salah has 19 strikes in the Premier League, which sees him comfortably at the top of the Golden Boot race, ahead of fellow Liverpool team-mates Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane.

Neville has sent plenty of praise Salah’s way this season, in particular after his hat-trick in the 5-0 win over his beloved Man United in October.

However, despite acknowledging Salah’s ability, Neville has picked two other players he’d rather have in the Man United squad if it was up to him.

The now-Sky Sports pundit says that, given the choice, he’d rather have Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe at Old Trafford - and has explained his reasons why.

“At times earlier in the season, Salah was at a level that was the best in the world, and he still could be,” Neville told Sky Sports .

“But if you said to me I could sign one player for Manchester United tomorrow, I would still probably go for Mbappe or Haaland over Salah.”

"It's not a Liverpool thing, I think Salah is absolutely amazing, but I just think Mbappe has got the ability to be out-of-this-world special.

"There is no doubt Salah is world class, but Mbappe has got something different, that edge, something that is that good, it could make him one of the true greats."
