Manchester United legend Gary Neville slammed the Reds' "toothless" and "pathetically slow" first-half as their showdown with Leicester ended goalless at half-time.
It was a hesitant and cagey start from both sides with the visitors creating the brightest openings but were nothing more than half-chances from Harvey Barnes. There was a shock last night and prior to kick-off as it became apparent that star striker Cristiano Ronaldo would miss the important visit from the Foxes, through illness.
More surprisingly, attacker Marcus Rashford was left out of the starting line-up as Ralf Rangnick opted to field a starting XI without a recognised striker. The dull opening 45 was summed up by a series of loose touches and misplaced passes.

The Premier League-winning full-back made his feelings on the showing abundantly clear. He said during commentary: "If Ronaldo was fit he'd of played obviously, United wouldn't of played 4-2-2-2 wouldn't you think Rashford would come in if they used this system with Ronaldo in?
"That's the surprise, he's changed the system completely to exclude Rashford because Rashford would've played. He should be in this team, you have to say, Manchester United are absolutely toothless, it's pathetically slow."
