Gary Neville hailed Hakim Ziyech after the Morocco forward’s amazing goal for Chelsea during their 2-0 win over Tottenham on Sunday.
The 28-year-old’s curling strike from the edge of the box put the Blues in front, and Thiago Silva doubled their advantage to seal the three points at Stamford Bridge.
Ziyech has struggled to establish himself in Chelsea’s first team since joining from Ajax for £34million in 2020.
However, he now has two goals in his last two games and his stunning effort against Spurs was a glimpse of what the former Ajax star is capable of.
Sky Sports pundit Neville was impressed with Ziyech's display against Antonio Conte's side, and likened him to Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez.
"I gave Ziyech the Man of the Match award, I just thought he did really well," he said on The Gary Neville podcast.
"He's up against real opposition within his own squad in the likes of [Timo] Werner, [Christian] Pulisic, [Callum] Hudson-Odoi, [Mason] Mount, they can all play in that position.
"But he has got that Mahrez feel about him, with a dip of the left shoulder and a lovely left foot.
"He puts lovely deliveries in from set-pieces and it was a brilliant, brilliant goal."
Neville also claimed that City's draw with Southampton coupled with victories for Chelsea and Liverpool have kept the title race alive.
The Blues are now 10 points behind Guardiola's side but have played a game more, whereas Liverpool are nine points behind City and have a game in hand.
He added: "It can happen. Liverpool have got it in them if they can keep that strongest XI together. Get Mane and Salah back flying.
"Liverpool are doing really well without two of their main players. They are [in the title race]. Little things like that give a bit of encouragement, with Southampton getting a point against City.
"City, they’re a machine, you don’t expect them to make a lot of mistakes but they could and Liverpool and Chelsea have got to believe that.
"I’m not that disappointed with Liverpool, to be honest, because I think they have to be at full-pelt all the time to get [alongside] City, just for the fact they haven’t got the squad that City have got.
"But I do think Chelsea have and I expect it to get close. I don’t expect this runaway lead.
"Five weeks ago, we expected a three-horse race and we’ve also been pushed into thinking that City have won it.
"I don’t think we’ve got the three-horse race back this weekend through the fact that Chelsea have won and Liverpool have won and City have drawn.
"But I don’t think we’re going to have that runaway, sort of 20-point championship that we’ve had sometimes with City."
