Gary Neville has gone back in time to defend VAR and it's place in the Premier League following a weekend of controversy.
VAR has arguably faced its toughest weekend to date with various incidents' during the Chelsea v West Ham, Man United v Arsenal and Newcastle v Crystal Palace matches leading to many calling for major changes to be made, amid suggestions it should be removed from the game altogether.
As a response to these calls, the Premier League have ordered PGMOL to review the whole system and how it's all being followed at Stockley Park.

Whether that will be enough to eradicate the calls for it to go remains to be seen but Neville - who has already defended the technology and the referees by stating that it was only a 'bad' weekend for all involved - has gone back through the archives to suggest why the system needs to remain in place, despite the major teething problems.
"If we are talking about a Champions League final or a league decider in the last minute of the season, and you want an accurate decision, I'd rather have the technology," he told Sky Sports in his latest podcast. "I'd rather lose a league, you know we, Chelsea fans won't like this, we lost a league here through an offside goal where Didier Drogba, I don't know if you remember it, when he was offside here three games before the end of the season.
"Chelsea fans will say they would have won the league anyway, I don't agree with them, but that would have been disallowed and we may have won the league through that goal being disallowed.
"So, I look back thinking 'did we lose a league because of that'?"
That incident he was talking about was when the Ivorian won the game late on for Carlo Ancelotti's side as Joe Coe's goal was earlier cancelled out by the Red Devils. Chelsea used that morale-boosting victory to win the league title back in 2009/10 by a single point over Sir Alex Ferguson's side.
