Gary Neville exposes Liverpool myth after Jurgen Klopp relegation message to Everton

Here are your Liverpool morning headlines for Saturday, April 23.

Gary Neville has just brutally exposed Liverpool myth with 'appalling' claim

In a campaign with more troughs than peaks, it was the Merseyside derby where Liverpool slumped to their nadir last season.

After thumping their chests about an unbeaten Anfield record that had stretched back to September 1999 against Everton, a grotesquely contorted term reached its lowest ebb with a 2-0 defeat at home to their most fierce of local rivals in February last year.

That had a huge knock-on effect for Thiago's adaptation period on Merseyside, with his late December return to a side without senior centre-backs coinciding with a slump in fortunes that was only arrested as spring arrived.
