Gary Neville ‘certain’ Arsenal will punish Liverpool in Premier League clash

Gary Neville has backed Arsenal to punish Liverpool in Sunday’s Premier League meeting.

While Jurgen Klopp’s side managed to ground out a 0-0 draw against Chelsea on Tuesday night, they gave up a number of big chances.

Kai Havertz and Mateo Kovacic should both have scored while the German and Reece James also saw goals ruled out.

While Klopp is hopeful of keeping a clean sheet offers his team a platform on which to build, the visit of Arsenal is a daunting one.

Mikel Arteta’s side have scored at least three goals in their last five League games and have taken their overall tally to 70.

No team have bagged as many as the Gunners on the road this season (28), albeit Liverpool have only conceded nine times at Anfield despite a difficult season as a whole.

Still, Neville believes Arsenal simply will not allow Liverpool off the hook.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Neville said: “It’s for certain if they were to give Arsenal the chances they’ve given Chelsea tonight, they would be well behind in the game on Sunday."
