Gary Lineker has slammed Cristiano Ronaldo for his "unacceptable" behaviour during Manchester United's 2-0 win over Tottenham on Wednesday night, after the 37-year-old stormed down the tunnel at Old Trafford before full-time.
Erik ten Hag named Ronaldo on the bench for United's victory over Spurs, as second-half goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes saw the Reds claim all three points. Antonio Conte's side was beaten for just the second time this season, as United put in a commanding display that saw them have more shots, possession shots on target, passes and corners than the North London club.

Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Antony comprised United's front three, and Ronaldo was clearly frustrated at not featuring, as he was seen walking down the tunnel at Old Trafford before the full-time whistle had been blown. Lineker has now criticised the five-time Ballon d'Or winner for his actions.
Speaking on BBC's Match of the Day, the former Barcelona forward said: "We all know what a great player he has been but walking off the pitch as a substitute two minutes before the game has finished... I'm sorry, that is unacceptable. That is poor."
Fellow pundit Micah Richards agreed, saying: "It is so poor. For someone we have looked up to for so long, one of the greats of the game. To do that when your team are winning, making it all about him, he shouldn't. It is unacceptable."
