Gary Lineker makes rude Jamie Carragher joke as he spots blunder on Sky Sports

Gary Lineker couldn't help himself when noticing an unfortunate blunder on Sky Sports' YouTube page - cracking a joke at Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher's expense.

The video's thumbnail was supposed to read: "Gary Neville gives passionate must-watch analysis of Man United's problems" - but it accidentally read: "Gary Neville gives passionate must-watch a***." The video was originally published in May 2019.

Never one to waste an opportunity to enjoy some banter, Lineker tweeted: "No wonder Jamie Carragher is prone to get a bit squeaky on MNF [Monday Night Football]." Carragher is yet to reply to the Match of the Day host's joke, although others have.

"The one time you don't want HD," replied Specsavers' official Twitter account, while former Premier League strikers Carlton Cole and Brian McClair responded with memes. The Twitter community also awaits Neville's reaction to Lineker's banter.

Lineker makes plenty of jokes on social media. When Barcelona took the lead against Ibiza in a Copa del Rey tie in January 2020, he tweeted: "Ibiza are beating Barcelona at half-time. Think [manager Quique] Setien's team talk last night may have been misunderstood. 'I said show me passion, not Pacha.'" It was a reference to Ibiza's nightlife.

Lineker then followed it up with another tweet when Barcelona equalised, adding: "It's all square. Barcelona have equalised. Hard to imagine not scoring in Ibiza."

After Son Heung-min scored Tottenham's first goal under Jose Mourinho in November 2019, Lineker tweeted: "Son scores the first goal of Mourinho's Tottenham reign. Not Mourinho's son, but Son." That joke wasn't one of the former striker's best.

And when Andy Robertson scored a header for Liverpool against Burnley in July 2020, Lineker tweeted: "Great header from Robertson. Didn't realise he was so 'andy in the air." If I'm being honest, I quite enjoyed that one.

Lineker also loves the banter on MOTD. When only one game went ahead on December 18, Lineker tweeted: "The MOTD running order: Leeds United v Arsenal. Surely no one disagrees this week... then again, it is Twitter." The running order is always contested.

After Newcastle's 3-3 draw against Manchester United in January 2016, pundit Alan Shearer insisted Toon defender Chancel Mbemba had to make himself bigger with his hands in a late incident. Lineker replied: "Well, we've all done that with our hands."
