Gary Lineker says it is a "real shame" that football supporters have been unable to show their respects to Queen Elizabeth II at Premier League fixtures this weekend.
Nottingham Forest were scheduled to travel to Elland Road on Monday evening to face Leeds United (8pm kick-off), but the fixture will now take place on a later date following the Premier League's decision to postpone the latest round of matches after Queen Elizabeth II's death.
The decision comes despite other sports carrying on as usual, with rugby and cricket taking place over the course of the weekend. However, there remains further doubts over next Friday's game against Fulham at the City Ground, despite statements from the Met Police and Department of Culture, Media and Sport.

Forest's fixture against Fulham takes place on Friday evening due to the Royal London Cup final between Kent Spitfires and Lancashire Lighting on the Saturday. However, should the game be postponed, Steve Cooper's side will have gone four weeks before a fixture when they travel to East Midlands rivals Leicester City on October 3.
Lineker took to Twitter after watching spectators and cricketers pay their respects at The Oval ahead of the day's play in the England vs South Africa Test match. He posted: "Given the wonderful and moving scenes at The Oval, it feels a real shame that football is not taking place this weekend, therefore missing the opportunity to pay its respects."
Outspoken TV presenter Piers Morgan has also questioned the decision. The Arsenal supporter tweeted: "Sporting events should go ahead. a) The Queen loved sport, and b) It would be great to see/hear huge crowds singing the National Anthem in tribute to Her Majesty, as West Ham fans did so magnificently last night."
