Lineker details 'very harsh' decision
Gary Lineker believes Harry Kane's disallowed goal in Tottenham's defeat to Chelsea was "very harsh".
Kane thought he'd put Spurs ahead at Stamford Bridge after he found the bottom corner in the first-half, but referee Paul Tierney blew his whistle with the striker adjudged to have fouled Thiago Silva. The Tottenham players were furious as they went on to lose 2-0 to their London rivals.
Lineker took to Twitter to share his verdict on the incident, with the former Spurs striker disagreeing with Tierney's decision.
He tweeted: "Clever from @tsilva3 but very harsh on @HKane. If the referee had given the goal there's no way VAR would have turned it over."
Spurs player ratings as Bergwijn shines
It was by no means a vintage performance from Tottenham in their defeat to Chelsea, but there was a bright spot with the positive display from Steven Bergwijn.
The Netherlands international was handed a start after his heroics against Leicester City last week and he impressed at Stamford Bridge.
However, Japhet Tanganga struggled throughout the match, with the Spurs defender having his work cut out in west London.
Keane issues brutal Spurs verdict
Ever since Conte took charge of Spurs in November, there has been a noticeable, albeit slight, improvement in north London.
Keane, though, does not think there has been a switch in mentality from the Tottenham players, who have often been criticised by the media for their mindset during matches.
When asked if there has been a change in mentality at Spurs under Conte, Keane told Sky Sports: "Not yet, no.
"He’s been there a few months I know there was people getting a bit excited after the Leicester game, it was a brilliant win for them but there’s still doubts over Tottenham obviously the record against Chelsea, the cup semi-finals against Chelsea they didn’t score a goal in either leg so the jury is still out for me on Tottenham."
