Gary Lineker sent a pointed message just before his return to BBC screens after last week's Match of the Day drama.
The former England striker was absent from last week's broadcast of Match of the Day following controversy regarding his tweets on non-football matters. A number of other presenters and pundits ruled themselves out of appearing on the show, including Ian Wright and Alan Shearer.
Lineker's return was confirmed shortly after the BBC ran with a significantly shortened broadcast of the Saturday evening show, with the host back in the studio for the FA Cup quarter-final between Manchester City and Burnley. "Ah the joys of being allowed to stick to football," he wrote on Twitter, sharing a photo from the Etihad Stadium. A second photo captioned with the caption "teammates" showed Lineker in the studio next to Micah Richards and Shearer.
