Gary Lineker blown away by rampant Celtic after 6-0 St Johnstone win

Celtic’s rip-roaring form has caught the attention of BBC pundit and former England striker Gary Lineker.

Brendan Rodgers’ side put on a relentless attacking display during Saturday’s 6-0 thumping of St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic have now scored 33 goals in their last 9 games – and their rampant early season form has caught the attention of Gary Lineker. Speaking to Alan Shearer and Micah Richards on The Rest is Football podcast after the St Johnstone win, Lineker said: “I just want to mention Celtic. Have you seen, they won six nil again today, but they’ve played six games, they’ve not conceded yet, you know?

“20 goals for, none against. And you say, well, they’re probably running away with it, but Aberdeen won again and they’re now six wins from six.”

Saturday’s victory at McDiarmid Park maintains Celtic’s five-point lead over Rangers and keeps them ahead of Aberdeen on goal difference at the top of the table.

Celtic resume their Champions League campaign on Tuesday night with a trip to Borussia Dortmund.
