Leicester City legend Gary Lineker has admitted that he was left bemused by the decision to disallow Leandro Trossard's goal during Arsenal's clash against the Foxes on Saturday afternoon.
Ben White was adjudged to have impeded Leicester goalkeeper Danny Ward during a set-piece before the ball eventually fell to Trossard's feet on the edge of the box, with the Belgian delicately curling the ball into the top corner before VAR urged onfield referee Craig Pawson to review the incident on the monitor.
Pawson eventually chalked the goal off, something that Lineker, who supports Brendan Rodgers' side, was confused by.

Writing on his Twitter page, the former England international wrote: "Arsenal have had a goal ruled out after a VAR intervention. As a Leicester fan, I feel relieved, but bemused by a decision that could not be described, under any circumstances, as a clear and obvious error."

However, Arsenal hero Paul Merson actually disagreed with Lineker's assessment of the incident, claiming that overturning the goal was the correct call from the officials. Speaking on Sky Sports, Merson said: “VAR, that is unbelievable.
"They can’t see a sending off, but they can see that. It’s a great spot, an unbelievable spot."
Nevertheless, Gabriel Martinelli was able to break the deadlock just after half-time as he curled a side-footed effort past the onrushing Ward as the Gunners clinched a vital three points to maintain their two-point lead at the top of the table.
