Gary Barlow surprised fans as he shared a rare snap on Instagram alongside his son. The Take That star was publically wishing his eldest child, Daniel, a happy birthday on Tuesday (August 16) despite keeping much of his private life out of the spotlight.
The father and son image showed the pair together on the beach standing shoulder to shoulder as they stood on a sandy beach and looked out at the clear blue sea. "Happy 22nd Birthday to our Dan," Gary penned. "We love you mate and you make us so proud every day."
But the picture caught the eyes of Gary's followers as they couldn't help but notice how much his son towers over the singer. Richie Norton was among the first to reply: " Big Dan is a unit! He could be a super hero."

Look at you, towering over your dad." @aliciaorangee laughed: "Are you kneeling? HAPPY BDAY DAN."
@therealdanybgram commented: "Oh my God? Dan is on the right or on the left? Happy Bday Dan." @birchk4 replied: "He’s massive or are you small @officialgarybarlow. Last month, Gary gave his fans another rare and intimate glimpse into his personal life by sharing pictures from his family holiday, which also happened to fall on his wife Dawn's 52nd birthday. "Happy Birthday Mrs.B," he penned alongside a photo of the pair grinning away on an inflatable pink flamingo in a pool.
"Still having fun after all these years - here’s to a wonderful day," he added. Gary then shared another selection of photos featuring himself and his wife on a hike with stunning views as the sun started to rise. " We’re currently enjoying a family holiday," Gary said. "As well as spending as much time as possible with everyone I also see a holiday as a great opportunity for exercise.
"I often simply don’t have enough hours in a day due to work. Holiday means early mornings for me and a chance to try new ways of moving. Hikes, classes etc etc and wherever possible do it with the fam. Here’s a few shots of D and me hiking - photography by Dan."
