BBC pundit Garth Crooks believes Newcastle United goalkeeper Nick Pope had 'no right to get anywhere near' Adam Lallana's header which he miraculously clawed behind.
Crooks named Pope in his Premier League team of the week after the England international produced a man of the match performance to guide Newcastle to a goalless draw against Brighton.
Pope made five saves, thwarting Lallana with an early contender for the save of the season, and denying Solly March twice to cap a sensational display.
The Magpies' draw at the Amex also kept their unbeaten run intact after they defeated Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest in their opening fixture.
Crooks has been impressed by the 'steady' progress Newcastle have made under Eddie Howe but believes the result could've been different had Pope not been between the sticks.
"Solly March should have had two goals and would have done had it not been for Pope," Crooks wrote in his weekly BBC column.
"Adam Lallana then had a header saved when Pope had no right to be anywhere near it, while a deflection off Dan Burn seemed to wrong-foot the Newcastle goalkeeper, but Pope and Fabian Schar still managed to keep Brighton out.
"This was a good result for Newcastle who, like Brighton, are making steady progress under a very good manager."
Garth Crooks' XI: Nick Pope; Kalidou Koulibaly, Pontus Jansson, Tyrone Mings; Reece James, Granit Xhaka, Kevin de Bruyne, Mathias Jensen; Gabriel Jesus, Rodrigo, Luis Diaz.
