Garth Brooks could make surprise RTE Late Late show appearance after Ryan Tubridy mysterious comment

RTE's Ryan Tubridy has teased a mystery special guest on tonight's Late Late Show.

On Thursday, RTE revealed the line-up for the show, which includes Hollywood icons and Oscar winners, Julia Roberts, and George Clooney, and the latest Ultimate Hell Week recruits.

On Friday's show, Ryan chats to Hollywood A-listers George Clooney and Julia Roberts in London to chat about their new film Ticket to Paradise.

RTE Ultimate Hell Week returns tonight - here's everyone taking part

George Clooney is set to speak about his Irish links to Laois and Kilkenny as well as his visit to Ireland before the pandemic.

Ryan will also chat to Julia about her memories of filming ‘Michael Collins’ in Ireland.

Irish actress and writer Amy Huberman will be on the show to talk about her new children's book and her upcoming acting work.

It’s not known who the mystery guest is yet, but it could be Garth Brooks as the star is set to begin the first of five nights in concert at Croke Park.

This morning Ryan Tubridy expressed his excitement on his RTE radio show.

Tubridy shared he would be joined by Hollywood A-listers, and Amy Huberman, he told listeners: "Don't forget tonight's Late Late Show we'll be playing out the interview we recorded with George Clooney and Julia Roberts. We also have Amy Huberman joining us."

Ryan told listeners to RTE One that George spoke fondly about where the Irish-American actor has relatives.

Fuelling speculation it could be Garth Brooks, Ryan added: "The reason I'm being coy about our very, very special guest joining us at the end of the show is because he's a busy man and he's filming.

"But I think we're looking good to get him on the show.”

"I'm dying to tell you, but it's just too tricky." he said.

Garth Brooks has a curfew of 10.30pm on tonight's concert, with the Late Late show live on air until 11.30pm.

The country music superstar is also filming at the moment for a Netflix special.

Dublin Airport confirmed Garth arrived in Ireland on Wednesday morning by private jet.

Brooks originally planned to play two nights in the Dublin venue on September 9 and 10, but huge demand saw three more dates added on September 11, 16 and 17.

TikTok star Tadhg Fleming, Mrs Brown's Boys actress Fiona O'Carroll and former Miss Ireland Pamela Uba will speak about facing their fears after signing up for Ultimate Hell Week: The Professionals.

There will be a performance with Megan O’Neill singing Lay Your Head Down.

Last week’s Late Late show guest line-up featured Lord of the Dance star Michael Flatley, Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, football pundit Pat Spillane, and singer Tolü Makay.

The Late Late Show airs Friday nights at 9.35pm on RTE One.
