Twitter has become the source for millions of people to easily get their news, whether it be sports or pop culture or whatever the case may be. In fact, USA Today recently spoke with a few NFL experts, including Brian Baldinger, Geoff Schwartz, Dan Orlovsky and Ben Solak about the use of social media to educate fans on football.
Those experts, plus millions of others, also have the blue checkmark to verify themselves on Twitter. But if Elon Musk’s plan goes into action, which it looks like it will, you’re going to have to pay to keep that checkmark and Jets WR Garrett Wilson is among those speaking out against the move.
“$8/month for me to prove that I am me? He on the BS early!” he tweeted.

A few celebrities have already said they are leaving Twitter as a result, so we’ll see if Wilson will follow suit or if he chooses to stay and pony up. What about you, would you ever pay for Twitter?
