Former Tottenham star Gareth Bale has hinted at a possible return to football with his response to Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney's advance of a potential move to the League Two-bound side.
Wrexham sealed promotion to the Football League for the first time 2008 after beating Boreham Wood 3-1 at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday evening. The club, owned by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and McElhenney, are expected to be busy ahead of their endeavour in League Two next season after benefitting from the film stars' financial benefit.
On Tuesday, Always Sunny in Philadelphia star McElhenney posted a video of Bale congratulating him on his success with the Welsh club. The ex-Spurs man said: "Hi, Rob. Just want to congratulate you on your promotion and everything you're doing at Wrexham."

McElhenney captioned the video with a cheeky stab in the dark hoping to convince the five-time Champions League winner to come out of retirement and join the Dragons. "Hey, @GarethBale11, let's play golf, where I totally won't spend four hours trying to convince you to un-retire for one last magical season."
Later in the day, Bale's reply certainly doesn't rule out a move to the EFL club, writing: "Depends what course..." Fellow co-owner Reynolds joined in with the fun, offering Bale an interesting proposal. "I will shave a professional-grade golf course into Rob's back if you'll give Wrexham a season," Reynolds tweeted.
Bale called time on his playing career in January after Wales' World Cup campaign in Qatar. He scored 186 club goals in 554 appearances, winning some of football's most-prized trophies.
