Gareth Bale named Rangers and Celtic transfer wildcard as signing odds tumble on Real Madrid superstar

Rangers and Celtic have been touted as two of the clubs in the running to sign superstar Gareth Bale this summer.

Bale has endured another injury-plagued season as Real Madrid with his contract set to run out in the summer.

He hasn't started a game for the Spanish giants since August with Carlo Ancelotti showing little faith in Bale since taking over in the Spanish capital last summer.

Despite this, Bale has continued to show flashes of brilliance for the Wales' national side - and was the key man in their World Cup playoff win over Austria.

With the 32-year-old plotting his future outside of the Bernabeu, both Rangers and Celtic have been named as potential destinations by oddsmakers.

Rangers have been named as 12/1 to be Bale's next club - and that could have something to do with the high praise Aaron Ramsey has given Ibrox.

Ramsey has found his feet in Govan having been frozen out at Juventus in a similar situation that Bale finds himself in at Real.

Bale revealed that his international teammate has been talking up the club while away with his national side: “He’s said he’s enjoying it at Rangers and it’s a big club.

“Enjoying your football is the most important thing because if you’re happy in what you’re doing you’re going to play better."

Celtic are further down the Oddsmaker list being touted as a 20/1 destination, with Ange Postecoglou potentially eyeing a Welsh superstar of his own for next season.

However, a move to either Scottish Premiership club would be a massive surprise given the bumper wage packet Bale would demand.

Tottenham remain the favourites to lure their former talisman back to the English Premier League, with odds of 2/1.

Gareth Bale's next club odds

Tottenham - 2/1

Cardiff - 8/1

Newcastle - 10/1

Rangers -12/1

Celtic - 20/1

Manchester United - 20/1

Southampton - 20/1
